FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — BRUSSELS
We are monitoring with growing alarm the structural instability and aesthetic disintegration currently unfolding at the Schuman roundabout. This failure at the very heart of the European quarter represents a calculated assault on the architectural cohesion of the Union.
"A botched paving stone is not merely a trip hazard; it is a fracture in the foundation of the acquis communautaire," stated Elara Vance-Vanderwaal, Commissioner for Urban Symmetry and Circular Pavement Standards. "If we cannot guarantee a perfectly concentric radius in Brussels, how can we hope to harmonize the single market?"
The Commission views this logistical catastrophe as a symptom of the unregulated, chaotic urban sprawl characteristic of the United States, where pavement standards are notoriously absent. To restore order, we are triggering Emergency Directive (EU) 2024/882, mandating that all aggregate materials meet a friction coefficient of exactly 0.645 Mu. Furthermore, a Special Task Force will oversee the immediate re-leveling of every millimeter of tarmac to ensure total alignment with European values.
The Commission reminds all parties that solidarity is not optional.
