“New flagship ai models releasing every other day.”
Official Response
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — BRUSSELS We are monitoring with growing alarm the uncoordinated and hyper-frequent proliferation of high-capacity algorithmic architectures across our digital borders. This erratic cadence of "flagship" releases represents a direct assault on the predictability of the Single Market and the cognitive equilibrium of the Union’s citizenry. "The era of unregulated computational spontaneity is over," stated Elara Vance-Pauwells, Commissioner for Temporal Harmonization and Afternoon Affairs. "Europe cannot maintain its cultural cohesion if the fundamental logic of our digital reality undergoes a total paradigm shift every forty-eight hours." This cycle of disruption, largely fueled by the regulatory Wild West of the United States, threatens to erode the rule of law by outpacing the democratic speed of committee review. Consequently, we are enacting the Algorithmic Fatigue Directive (EU) 2024/882, which mandates a mandatory 180-day 'cooling-off' period between deployments. Any model exceeding a 1.2-terawatt processing threshold must now be registered in triplicate via the Brussels Central Registry for Binary Consistency. The Commission reminds all parties that solidarity is not optional.
