Official Response
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — BRUSSELS We are monitoring with growing alarm the reported existence of unmapped, sub-standard residential zones currently operating outside the rigorous Harmonized Habitat Directive. Such geographical anomalies represent a direct assault on the territorial integrity of the European Union and the aesthetic dignity of the Single Market. “The proliferation of unsanctioned ‘shitholes’ undermines our commitment to the 2030 Sanitary Utopia Initiative,” stated Valerius Gloop, Commissioner for Residential Olfactory Standards and Porous Border Hygiene. “If a dwelling does not meet the minimum luminosity requirement of 400 lumens per square meter, it ceases to exist in the eyes of the law.” We remain deeply skeptical of the United States’ laissez-faire approach to zoning, which has clearly emboldened such localized infrastructural collapse. Under Emergency Regulation (EU) 2024/882, all dwellings must now pass a 150-point molecular air-quality audit. Failure to provide certified proof of indoor plumbing within forty-eight hours will result in immediate suspension of the resident’s right to structural existence. The single market did not build itself. Neither will compliance.
